Special Buddha’s Birthday: Full Moon Meditation Retreat and Dhamma Talk
We will celebrate Visakha Puja Day to commemorate 2,641 years since the birth of Buddha, 2,606 years since his enlightenment and 2561 years since his passing away. Each of these occurred on the full moon day of the month of Visakha. This year the exact Visakha Puja Day falls on the full moon day of May 29, 2018/2561.
-The day will begin with the Anagarika Ordination for Joko (New Dhamma's name will be given for him) at 9:30 a.m. The presiding preceptor for the ordination is Ajahn Sarayut, the Abbot of Wat Buddhametta.
-Lunch offering to monks, and nun and Anagarika by 11:00 a.m. followed by community lunch afterward.
-Meditation Retreat of Visakha full moon of the Buddha's Birthday begins at 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.
